Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 12 May 2026
These terms govern the horse transport services provided by RB Transport ("we", "us", "our"), trading as Danley Marshes Riding Centre, based in Kent, United Kingdom. By making a booking with us, you ("the client") agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Booking and confirmation
- A booking is confirmed only once we have acknowledged it in writing (email or text) and the 25% deposit has been received.
- All quotes are valid for 14 days from the date issued, unless otherwise stated.
- Quotes are based on the information you provide. If actual journey details differ on the day (distance, waiting time, number of horses), charges may be adjusted accordingly.
2. Payment
- A 25% deposit is required to secure your booking.
- The remaining balance is due on the day of transport, before collection of the horse.
- Payment is accepted by bank transfer or cash. We do not currently accept card payments.
- We are not VAT registered. All prices quoted are final.
3. Cancellation
- More than 24 hours notice: deposit refunded in full.
- Less than 24 hours notice: a £30 cancellation fee applies.
- Less than 2 hours notice or no-show: full deposit forfeited.
- Cancellations by RB Transport (e.g. due to vehicle breakdown or extreme weather) will result in a full refund or rebooking at no extra cost.
4. Your responsibilities as the client
To ensure a safe and lawful journey, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about the horse, including any health issues, behavioural concerns, or loading difficulties.
- Ensure the horse is fit to travel and ready for collection at the agreed time.
- Provide a suitable, safe loading area at both collection and destination.
- Supply a valid Equine Identification Document (passport) for each horse being transported, as required by UK law.
- Inform us of any infectious or contagious conditions before booking.
5. Welfare
Horse welfare is our top priority. We reserve the right to:
- Refuse transport if a horse appears unfit, injured, or unsafe to load.
- Stop the journey if the horse becomes distressed, and take appropriate action including contacting a vet.
- Make reasonable welfare stops during long journeys.
Costs arising from welfare-related delays or veterinary intervention are the client's responsibility unless caused by our negligence.
6. Insurance and liability
- We are fully insured for hire and reward, including transit liability for horses in our care.
- Our liability is limited to the terms of our insurance cover. Clients are strongly advised to maintain their own equine insurance.
- We are not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, road closures, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
- We are not liable for any pre-existing conditions, injuries, or losses not directly caused by our negligence.
7. Animal Transport Certificate
An Animal Transport Certificate (ATC) is issued for every journey, as required under The Welfare of Animals (Transport) (England) Order 2006. You will receive a copy on request.
8. Emergency transport
Emergency and out-of-hours transport is subject to a surcharge as stated on our website. We aim to respond within the hour for Kent-based emergencies but cannot guarantee response times. For genuine veterinary emergencies, contact us by phone — not email or web form.
9. Photography
We may take occasional photographs of our vehicles and journeys for marketing purposes. We will not photograph or publish images of your horse without your permission.
10. Complaints
If you're unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact us within 14 days at info@rbtransport.co.uk. We aim to resolve complaints within 30 days.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of your booking is the version that applies to your contract with us.
